Brittany is a powerhouse combination of energy, drive, fierce devotion and southern charm. Molly is an artist who feels most alive when she is helping others add color to their world and express their creative side. As two experienced military spouses with over 35 years of marriage, 15 moves and countless volunteer hours between the two of them, they know the difficulties of maintaining your own identity in this ever changing world.
When their paths crossed, courtesy of the Air Force, and they faced the challenge of revitalizing a spouse’s club as president and advisor, their eyes were open to many common struggles among military spouses on the base where they were stationed, including the overwhelming feeling of loss of individual identity. When Brittany was given the honor of being named AFI’s 2017 Military Spouse of the Year, her eyes were opened to the fact that the struggles felt by the spouses at her home base were being felt across the globe by many military spouses, no matter their location, gender or spouse’s rank. Her huge heart was filled with a desire to help other spouses find and maintain their identity. After hearing from so many spouses about their loss of identity and reflecting on her struggles to embrace/express her artisitc side, Molly was inspired to develope a community and inspiration to encourage others to embrace their creativity and find their spark. Armed with experience that has shown that things go better with a community, Brittany and Molly collaborated to create this workbook to encourage and equip military spouses to find their color in a camoflaged world and discover their spark!
